I have been using blogs in class for a few years. The results are not always perfect. Indeed, like the blogosphere itself, the results are almost always less than perfect. Still, there are occasionally moments when a human, rather than a spambot, lands on my blog, or one of my students’ blogs, and then it all seems to make sense. The basic idea is to get comfortable with the technology and to see what it does well or poorly. It is also a method for archiving and sharing those ‘ah hah!’ moments that a good class should produce.
